2026 SLT Hoops 16u-NXTPRO Player Profiles

SLT Hoops is a Queens, NY-based grassroots basketball program serving student-athletes from across the five boroughs, Long Island, Westchester, upstate New York, and the prep school landscape. Founded by Noah Griffith. Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at the City College of New York, SLT Hoops was created to provide serious players with a competitive, structured, and development-focused basketball environment. The program features athletes from public schools, Catholic schools, private schools, and prep schools, with players attracting recruitment interest from multiple college programs. SLT Hoops gives student-athletes the opportunity to compete on respected grassroots platforms while being challenged to improve their skill, decision-making, toughness, and overall approach to the game.
The SLT Hoops 16u-NXT Pro team is coached by Coach Griffith, and they are competing this spring and summer in the Puma NXT PRO circuit. Their roster is as below.
Carson Dobeck (2028) 6’5 wing, Westminster School (CT) - Dobeck is a long and skilled wing with the ability to stretch the floor and score from the perimeter. He brings positional size, rebounding and the confidence to make shots in big moments. As he continues to add strength and consistency, he is building the tools to becoming a high-level two-way prospect. 3.8 gpa
Elliot Goldberg (2028) 6’4 guard, Westminster School (CT) - Goldberg is a strong floor-spacing guard/wing who can shoot the ball at a high level and open up the offense. His size, feel, and ability to play off the catch make him a valuable piece in SLT’s system. He continues to develop as a defender and secondary playmaker, giving him real upside as a college prospect. 3.6 gpa
Rishon Rennie (2028) 5’8 point guard, Monsignor Scanlan High - Rennie is a quick, competitive point guard who plays with energy and toughness. He has the ability to pressure the ball, push pace, and create opportunities for teammates. His next step is continuing to grow as a decision-maker and floor leader against bigger, more physical guards.
Leo Fauver (2028) 6’7 guard, Hotchkiss school (CT) - Fauver is one of the premier long-term prospects in the group, bringing size, shooting, and versatility at 6’7. He can play on the perimeter, score off the catch, attack closeouts, and impact the game as a rebounder and connector. His combination of size, skill, and upside makes him a clear name for college coaches to track closely. 3.7 gpa
Ford Cook (2028) 6’6 forward Brooklyn Friends School - Cook is a lefty with good size, touch, and versatility in the frontcourt. He can operate around the rim, flash into soft spots against zone, and give the team a skilled forward presence. As he continues to play with more physicality and consistency, his value on both ends will keep rising.
Chase Huang (2028) 6’0 guard, Dwight School - Huang is a skilled guard who brings shooting, IQ, and spacing to the floor. He has the ability to make open shots, play within structure, and keep the ball moving offensively. As he continues to get stronger and more assertive, he can become a very reliable backcourt piece.
Eli Taveras (2028) 5’11 point guard, Monsignor Scanlan High - Taveras is a quick, dynamic point guard who can change the pace of the game with his speed and handle. He has the ability to break down defenders, create advantages, and put pressure on the defense in transition. His growth as a vocal leader and consistent decision-maker will be important as he continues to lead at the guard spot.
Cassius McDowell (2027) 6’1 guard, Monsignor Scanlan High - McDowell is a talented combo guard with scoring instincts and the ability to create offense at multiple levels. He can score off the bounce, make tough shots, and provide offensive firepower when he is locked in. His next step is bringing consistent effort, decision-making, and defensive engagement every possession.
Randy Vanderhorst 6’3 (2028) guard, St Raymond High - Vanderhorst is a strong scoring guard with good positional size, confidence, and the ability to create his own offense. He can shoot the ball, attack downhill, and provide scoring production from multiple levels. With continued defensive growth and playmaking consistency, Randy has the tools to become a very productive college-level guard.
Nifonas Tryfonos (2028) 6’2 guard, St Johns Prep - Tryfonos is a high-IQ guard with international experience, toughness, and a complete feel for the game. He impacts winning through defense, decision-making, rebounding, and his ability to make the right play without forcing the game. His versatility and maturity make him one of the most valuable two-way pieces on the roster.
Braxton Niedermier (2028) 5’11 guard, New Canaan High (CT) - Niedermier is a steady lead guard who brings poise, shooting, and floor-general qualities to the backcourt. He has the ability to organize the offense, make the right reads, and keep teammates involved while still being a threat as a shooter. His feel for the game and leadership at the guard spot make him a valuable addition to the roster. 3.7 gpa
