2026 Watson Basketball Classic Top Performers

On Sunday, July 5, RecruitTheBronx.com made it to Parque de Los Ninos Playground in the Soundview section of The Bronx for the high school division games for the Watson Basketball Classic. On this date, several teams based out of the New York City area all took it to the asphalt right before the start of the NCAA Live Period. Here are the standouts from that day.
Levi Sylvester 6-0, Point Guard, South Shore High School, PD Nation, Class of 2027 - A guard that has the ability to make great plays and is able to control the tempo of his team on a fast break. Has a penchant for driving to the basket and finishing in transition. Has the ability to find his teammates as they’re going towards the basket or whether they’re open on the wing.
Fabian Pinnock 5-9, Shooting Guard, Christ the King High School, PD Nation, Class of 2027 - A guard that has the ability to be a playmaker and is able to shoot at a high volume. Has the ability to drive to the basket and is able to finish through contact. Has the ability to shoot from long range, especially when being left open on the wing.
Jaiya Vera 6-1, Shooting Guard, Valley Stream Central High School, PD Nation, Class of 2027 - A guard that is a true playmaker when he’s on the court and able to do many things on both ends of the court. On the defensive end of the floor, he is able to hold the opposition by sticking with his man and can force turnovers by obtaining steals. Has a penchant for driving to the basket and can finish strong when going for a layup.
Jalen Mehu 6-5, Forward, The Patrick School (NJ), Express Ballers, Class of 2027 - A forward that has plenty of strength and explosiveness in his game. Is a player that has plenty of physicality and is able to use his strength with ease on both ends of the court. Is a great finisher when it comes to getting to the basket, by going up for a layup or a dunk.
Matthew Santiago 6-0, Point Guard, Eagle Academy I, Jungle Athletics, Class of 2028 - A guard that has the ability to be a true playmaker and has the penchant to be a solid floor general. Has a penchant for distributing the ball to his teammates when they’re open on the break or on the wing. Has the ability to shoot at a high volume, as he is prone to hitting three-pointers and can also get to the basket with ease.
Omari Reede 5-10, Point Guard, Eagle Academy II, Jungle Athletics, Class of 2029 - A guard that has a penchant for taking over games with his scoring ability. Has great body control, as he is able to make strong moves to the basket and can draw fouls with ease as a way to get to the free-throw line. Has great court vision, as he is able to distribute the ball to his teammates as they’re streaking towards the basket or whether they’re open. Has great defensive tendencies, as he is able to stick with the opposition and can force them into turning the ball over.
Julian Harris 5-10, Point Guard, Thurgood Marshall Academy, Unsung Yutes, Class of 2026 - A guard that is a true playmaker and a true competitor when he’s on the floor. Has the ability to break down his defender off the dribble and is able to find his teammates when the opportunity presents itself. Has the ability to shoot from long range, as he is prone to shooting three-pointers.
Brice Yancey 5-11, Point Guard, Cardinal Hayes High School, LPAC, Class of 2028 - A guard that has the ability to be a force in the backcourt. Has plenty of quickness in his game and the ability to find his teammates when they’re open, or when they’re on the fast break. Has the ability to create for himself off the dribble and is able to get to the basket, where he is able to score with ease.
Larry Jenkins 6-6, Forward, Archbishop Stepinac High School, LPAC, Class of 2028 - A forward that has a lot of length and plenty of versatility and can attack in transition when on the offensive end. Is able to put the ball on the floor and can drive down the lane and get to the basket easily. Is a great rebounder and has plenty of athleticism, as he is also known for throwing down powerful dunks.
Supreme Hinton 6-4, Small Forward, Mount St. Michael Academy, Dreamchasers, Class of 2028 - A forward that shows plenty of versatility when he’s on the floor and is a true playmaker. Is able to put the ball on the floor and is able to create for himself off the dribble. Has a penchant for muscling his way to the basket and can absorb contact and draw fouls to get to the free-throw line.
