2026-27 Garden School Player Profiles
Founded in 1923, Garden School is a co-educational independent school in Jackson Heights, Queens, one of the most diverse neighborhoods on the planet. It is a small, lower tuition nursery through 12th grade independent school. The Garden experience is built upon a professional and caring relationship among teachers, students, families, and administrators and a firm commitment to understand, interpret and present each child as an individual. While Garden School is the most global of all NYC schools with students and families from across the world, they are a small school with a very tight community.
The athletics program is a part of the New York State Association of Independent Schools Athletic Association. Last winter, the boys varsity basketball team went 14-10 playing in the New York City independent school circuit, and went 7-4, 2nd place, in the Independent Schools Athletic League. The team is head coached by Brendan O’Shea.
They graduated five seniors from that team who helped pave the way in building program. Accordingly, a number of high impact players have transferred in for this upcoming. Garden School expects to take a huge leap this year. All of players are high academic kids.
Xander Foreman (2027) 6’0 guard - Forman is the lone returning starter. He has an extremely high motor, plays the game with a high IQ and is always making an impact on the game on both ends of the floor. He is a knockdown shooter, and always guards the opposing team’s best player. Last year he was named ISAL All-League, averaging 13.5 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 2.7 apg, 2.6 spg, 1.3 bpg. Foreman makes any team better when he is on the floor.
Malachi McCants (2028) 6’8 forward - McCants has an extremely high ceiling, as is just scratching the surface of his potential. He is extremely mobile and athletic for his size, and excels as a rim runner, in pick and rolls, in the post and making an impact defensively and on the glass. Mal always gives 110% effort. He is an under the radar prospect that college coaches at all levels should come see.
Jack Bruemmer (2029) 5’10 guard - Bruemmer is a prototypical point guard, and an extension of a coach on the floor. He is an excellent leader, can run a team with great pace, makes plays for others, shoots the 3 and plays extremely hard defensively. His leadership at this age is extremely rare.
Amadou Diallo (2028) 6’3 wing - Diallo has a terrific frame for his size and age, and uses it to his advantage with his knack of scoring. Amadou can shoot the ball, play out of pick and roll, and score at all three levels. He uses his physicality defensively to impact opposing players.
Maverick Foreman (2030) 5’10 guard - Foreman is a rare blend of extremely skilled with a dog mentality. He shoots the ball at an extremely high level, with deep range both off the dribble and catch, and uses great pace to get off his shot. He is extremely confident, plays with a high IQ, and is very aggressive on defense.
Joe Kelly (2028) 6’6 forward - Kelly is a long and skilled forward, with great touch for his size. Still growing into his frame, Joe makes an impact with his ability to stretch the defense out to the 3 point line, on the glass and blocking shots as weak side defender. He is continuing to get more confident as he continues to build out his frame.
Kalieb Yancey (2029) 6’0 guard -Yancey is a knockdown shooter, plays with a high IQ, and is a great communicator on the floor. He does a great job getting to his shot both on and off the ball, and plays with great intensity on the defensive end of the floor.
Antoine Gomis (2029) 6’1 guard - Gomis is a tough physical guard, that plays great off of two feet attacking the rim, and knocks down catch and shoot 3’s. Antoine’s athleticism really helps him defensively where he applies great pressure on the ball.
Andreas Americanos (2031) 5’8 guard - Just an 8th grader, AAmericanos is extremely mature, poised and skilled. Regarded as one of the best guards in the city, He play with great pace, shoots the ball at an extremely high level and has a true love for the game. Watch out as he continues to develop over the next few seasons.

Wodson Antoine (2028) 6’6 forward - An extremely physical forward that plays with a high motor on the glass and around the rim. Rebounds the ball at an extremely high level, finishes through contact and plays above the rim. Extremely coachable, with a rare blend of size, strength and athleticism.
Dillan Holford (2029) 6’3 guard - Holford plays with tremendous pace, and does a great job of getting to his spots to create for himself and others. He finishes through contact going to the rim, and can get to his shot at all 3 levels. A great athlete that plays fundamentally sound, Dillan has a tremendous future ahead of him.
