23 Eight Academy 2026-27 Player Profiles

23 Eight Academy is a post grad college basketball prep program located in Dix Hills, Long Island, NY. Tom Patterson is entering his 6th year as the Director/Head Coach. Patterson “Coach P” brings a wealth of basketball knowledge and wisdom to the court. He has coached for over 20 years on almost every level including AAU, HS, Prep, NAIA, JUCO, NCAA, and professionally in China. Stops also include, Jamaica, West Indies, Lithuania and a host of cities in the States. He became top assistant coach at Kentucky State University in 2000, assembling the group that won the 2001 SIAC Conference Championship and reached the Division II NCAA Tournament. He then became KSU’s head men’s basketball coach in 2003, leading his teams to the conference championship semifinals in three of his first five seasons.
For 2026-27 season, 238 Academy will be playing other college prep programs in the region. They will be running with these players profiled below leading the way:
Alpha Diakhaby (2027) 6’5 wing - Diakhaby with soft touch around the basket. He can and will play multiple positions this year.
Frandi Fernandez (2027) 6’6 wing - From Copiague High, Fernandez has a good touch from the arch, and he can score in the paint. He seemingly gets every rebound. Fernandez has a long wingspan and is a tenacious defender, making him a “diamond in the rough” prospect.
Tristan Green (2027) 6’2 guard - Green is a scorer, a leading scorer in Manhattan PSAL with 17ppg for A.P Randolph High last winter. He gets it done on both ends of court.
Ryan Khezri (2027) 6’0 guard - From Miller Place High, Khezri is a sharp-shooter that averaged 20.5 ppg this past winter. Coach Patterson describes him as “a very special talent”. 3.3 gpa
King Moore (2027) 6’1 guard - Moore was “Mr. Everything” for his Copiague High team last winter. 2025-26 All County honors while going for 17ppg / 5rpg. Moore decided to prep a year and expand his exposure to college scouts.
Shariff Penalo (2027) 5’10 point guard - Penalo is a crafty lead guard from John Glenn High. He makes everyone else better. Penalo has a great touch from the arch and is a great defender. 3.5 gpa 940 SAT
Juan Tinch (2027) 6’0 point guard - Tinch controlled things at the helm last season at Graphics High and will be a lead guard for 23 Eight. He gets downhill and finds a way to score from all levels. 3.6 gpa 1100 SAT
Jordan Williams (2027) 6’0 guard - From Center Moriches High, Williams is a tough two-way player with a high IQ. He is a relentless scorer and playmaker.
