2026-27 Masters School - New York Player Profiles
The Masters School is a coed boarding and day college prep school, grades 5-12, on a 96-acre campus in Westchester County, NY. It is a 40-minute Metro-North ride from Manhattan. They educate around 500 upper school students. Founded in 1877 by Eliza Bailey Masters as the “Misses Masters’ Boarding and Day School for Young Ladies and Children.” It was an all-girls until 1996.
The boys varsity basketball team is coached by Joey Kuhl in his fifth season at Masters. Kuhl had previously coached in the NBA’s G League, at the Air Force Academy and at Iona College. The team competes in a local conference, the Fairchester Athletic Association, and they also compete across New England to land a possible postseason tournament bid in the college-bound player-rich New England Prep School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Class B.
Masters graduated two of its top six scorers from last year in Omari Levy and Luc Brongniart, but for 2026-27 will return a young, but maybe their deepest and most talented roster in the past decade.
Lucas Laungayan (2027) 5’10 point guard - Laungayan is an elite 3pt shooter with a very quick release. He is a good decision-maker with the ball. Pesky and tough defender. Plays club ball with All In Elite 17u. 3.7 gpa Video highlights
Zach Stewart (2027) 5’9 guard - A tough, “glue guy”. Unselfish and plays extremely hard. Good 3pt shooter. Stewart is coming off an injury-lost season, but this season, he is expected to contribute.
Noah Ferguson (2028) 6’5 wing - Ferguson is a great shooter and playmaker with the basketball. He brings great size at the wing, rebounds well and plays with good pace. Great defender who competes on every possession. Sees the floor and makes the right play. Talented player with upside. High academic prospect. Plays AAU with Rens United 16u.
Calvin Higgins (2028) 6’3 wing - From Dobbs Ferry High, Higgins is a tough wing and a great 3pt shooter. Plays club ball with Riverside Select 16u. High gpa
Damian Mojica (2028) 6’8 small forward - Ranked #123 nationally by Rivals. 2025-26 All NEPSAC B-Large. Leading scorer, rebounder and shot blocker in 25-26 season. An elite scorer facing up from the mid-post. Great touch on finishes and on outside shot. Natural feel with the basketball and a talented passer. Great hand eye coordination. Talented player with big upside. Defends 1-5 and is a talented shot blocker. Has received multiple D1 offers, including Oklahoma State, Purdue, Syracuse, Wake Forest, West Virginia, Oral Roberts, University of Arkansas at Little Rock and Kennesaw State. Elias Moran (2028) 6’4 wing - A transfer from O’Neill High (NY), Moran is a tough and a good 3pt shooter who has a lot of upside for growth.
Ryder Rodriguez (2028) 6’2 guard - A talented 3 level scorer. Great 3pt shooter. Quick hands defensively. Quick with the ball and able to get shot off. Very high upside and improving rapidly. Plays club ball with NYC Honor 16u.
Malcolm Peterson (2029) 6’2 guard - Peterson is an athletic guard. Good 3pt shooter who is explosive attacking the rim. Mid-range scorer. Great on-ball defender who disrupts possessions. Plays club ball with Back 2 Basics. High gpa.
Jake Toomer (2029) 6’1 guard, Masters School (NY) - 2025-2026 All Fairchester Athletic Association Team and NEPSAC B Large Honorable Mention as a freshman. Toomer is an elite 3pt shooter who shoots off the catch and bounce. He is quick and plays with a high IQ with the ball. Good passer and crafty finisher. Has been offered by Manhattan and UAB. Plays club ball with the NY Rens 15u. High gpa
Austin Huckaby (2030) 6’2 guard - A high-level prospect with real DI upside. Smooth, fluid, and explosive with natural scoring instincts. True 3-level threat who can create his own shot, finish above the rim, and stretch the floor. Advanced for his age with a polished mid-range package and the ability to finish comfortably with his left. Impacts the game beyond scoring—active, engaged, and plays with a motor that separates him. High academic prospect with a ceiling that’s extremely high and trending up fast. Plays club ball with NY Rens 14u-JR EYBL.
