St. Francis Preparatory School is a 168 year old, Franciscan Catholic co-educational secondary school in Fresh Meadows, Queens, NY, and the largest private Catholic secondary school in the United States.
The Terriers’ varsity basketball team competes in the Catholic High School Athletic Association, Brooklyn-Queens AA Division — widely regarded as one of the toughest high school leagues in the country and a proven pipeline to college basketball.
Head coach Jimmy Lynch enters his ninth season at the helm, and he has rebuilt the program into a perennial contender. A two-time CHSAA “AA” Coach of the Year, Lynch broke through in 2020 when a Terrier roster built around five sophomores with zero varsity experience — a team picked to finish near the bottom of Brooklyn-Queens — captured the school’s first B/Q championship in 23 years. Two seasons later, St. Francis Prep went 22-4, repeated as Brooklyn-Queens champions, reached the CHSAA “AA” Final Four, and won the Kreul Under Armour National Tournament title in Florida. The Terriers took the B/Q crown again in 2024, upsetting Christ the King in the semifinals before knocking off top-seeded Nazareth in the final on their home floor.
Lynch’s teams have also played a national non-conference schedule, including trips to the Arby’s Classic in Bristol, TN. Recent Terriers have moved on to play college ball at Marist, Saint Rose, and the prep ranks.

Carter Prizzi (2027) 6’9 forward - Prizzi plays a major role for the Terriers as an inside presence, a rim protector and a rebounder. high gpa
Logan Wassenbergh (2027) 6’4 small forward - High gpa
Michael McCann (2027) 6’1 guard - High gpa
Justin Desena (2028) 6’3 guard - There’s a strong case to be made that DeSena might be the best shooter in the CHSAA. A2025-26 All City selection, DeSena will take on a leadership role as the team’s most experienced player.
Ethan Edwards (2028) 5’7 point guard - Saw limited varsity minutes last season, but adds depth to a loaded Terriers’ backcourt.
Jalen Lynton (2028) 5’11 guard - Lynton is working to add to his varsity minutes this season. High gpa
Austin Dottin (2029) 6’4 wing - This talented player gained valuable experience last year as a freshamn playing up on varsity. He continues to grow and mature, and is able to get anywhere that he wants to on the floor.
Eli Murray (2029) 6’7 forward - Murray has all of the tools to become a super star. His game is taking off as he adds size and strength. He is a natural scorer, shooting both the long ball and being able to get to the rim.
Keishaun White (2029) 6’5 small forward - White continues to improve on a daily basis. He has a high basketball IQ and defends at a high level. He has improved his jump shot.
JJ Cipolla (2029) 6’0 guard - Cipolla had an outstanding season last year on the freshman team. He adds perimeter shooting and scoring ability.
Carter Abrahams (2030) 6’1 guard - Abrahams started drawing notice as a potential major star while in middle school. He is built to score, lightning fast and can do-it-all.
Jordan Allman (2030) 6’7 forward - This lengthy freshman will improve daily as he now bangs with varsity players. He has a good feel for the game and can contribute from the perimeter.
