St Albans Prep 2026-27 Player Profiles
The path for talented high school basketball players to land a spot on a college roster, more often than not, involves taking an additional year of development as a post grad in a prep school program. This accomplishes a number of things for the prospects. One, it gives them an additional year of physical and basketball development. It exposes them to a game style that is like the college game, which can often be very different than their high school level of play (not the least of which is competing with and against a bigger, stronger and older level of player). It also often dramatically increases their exposure to college scouts.
The big issue with prep schools, however, is that they can be very expensive, as in often being over $70,000 for a year. St Albans is a Queens based program that’s trying to address that high cost issue. One big advantage in their quest to that is being based in a large metropolitan area means they can cut out the room and board costs that a boarding school must incur by focusing on student athletes that can commute. If the prospect doesn’t need additional school credits because he already has his high school diploma, then that big cost/tuition funding gets dropped as well. Consequently, St Albans is offering a significantly more affordable path for talented NYC student-athletes to pursue their dreams to play college ball.
The basketball program is staffed by an experienced and committed coaching staff. Kaamil Dillard is a Queens native, who has spent years running the A Diamond in the Rough showcase, an exposure event he built specifically for previously unheralded, uncommitted but high-potential college and prep prospects. His assistant coach and player development lead is Isaac “Slim” Sanders.
Their team will play a 30+ game schedule and compete in the Empire State League against other college basketball prep programs in the region. The St Albans Prep 2026-27 roster is profiled below.

Suleman Abdulrahman (2027) 6’5 forward - Abdulrahman is a physical monster who can rebound, pass, shoot and defend 1-5. He was second on last year’s St Albans team in rebounding. The only underclassman receiving 2025-26 All Empire League honors. Abdulrahman could be a football player given how strong he is and the physical approach that he applies to the game. He had a big 2026 club ball season with Rens United. Has been offered by Erie Community College (NJCAA D2).
Ibrahim Bah (2027) 5’9 guard - Bah is a rapidly ascending late bloomer, in only his second year of playing basketball. He shoots the three at a reliable clip and defends at a high level. He also scores in the lane with floaters from either hand. He works hard, wants to get better and applies himself.
Isaac Calix (2027) 5’10 point guard - A post grad from Adlai Stevenson Campus (NY), Calix can spread the floor and shoot lights out from beyond the arc. He is a speed demon that is very active, which also enhances his ability to defend. Calix’s ability to change a game is huge, and he is working to be more consistent in doing that.
Christnapy Destin (2027) 5’10 guard - A post grad from Middletown High (OH), Destin can play and defend both guard spots. He knows how to get to his spots. He lives to compete and leaves it all on the floor. He has a strong body for an undersized guard so likes to finish at the rim with contact. He can shoot the ball as well. Has been offered by East-West University (USCAA D2).
Matthew Federo (2027) 6’2 wing -A post grad from Inwood Academy (NY), Federo is an aggressive player that gets downhill and uses his size vs smaller guards. He was one of the top scorers in the NYC public school leagues. He can also shoot the 3 ball. He had a good 2026 spring and summer with Team Viper, reaching the Made Hoops circuit championship.
Josiah Greaves (2027) 5’9 point guard - A post grad from South Shore High (NY) - Greaves can get paint touches and gets others going. He has a nice knack for finding his spots. He has a mid-range scoring package and the heart of a giant.
Gabriel Rodriguez (2027) 6’6 forward - A post grad from DeWitt Clinton Campus (NY), Rodriguez is a beast in the paint. He can beat his defender both in a face up or with his back to the basket. He imposes his will on the boards using will and athleticism.
Mario Rose (2027) 6’4 small forward - A post grad from Erasmus Hall Campus (NY) - Rose gets on the rim and can play basketball. He wants to take the big shots and embraces the big moments. He is a dog on the court who can consistently score from all three levels. He also defends multiple positions wants to beat everyone to the rebound.
Jayden Thomas (2027) 6’5 small forward - A post grad from South Bronx Preparatory School (NY), Thomas is a lefty who can bully his way to the rim and hammer it down through a contesting defender. Thomas can kill defenses with his midrange and is a good shooter from beyond the arc. He can also defend. Receiving some Low Major D1 interest.
