Eagle Academy-Brooklyn Player Profiles
Eagle Academy For Young Men II is an all-boys, grades 6-12, college-preparatory school, serving a low-income, predominantly Black and Latino student body, located in the in the Ocean Hill section of Brooklyn, NY. Eagle Academy is a network of New York City schools founded in 2004 in the Bronx by educator David Banks partnership with 100 Black Men of America, with the Brooklyn campus opening in 2008. Eagle Academy-Brooklyn educates about 420 in grades 9-12. Student-teacher ratio around 13:1, roughly 48-50 full-time teachers. It’s four-year graduation rate consistently in the low-to-mid 90s.
The basketball program has emerged as a powerhouse New York program. It competes in the regular season in the Public School Athletic League (PSAL) Division 4A Brooklyn/Staten Island. In 2022-23, they started their impressive run, winning the divisional, borough and city championships. In 2023-24 they captured a second straight city title, albeit under strange circumstances. They were the top seed in Brooklyn 4A-I, won the borough final and beat Brooklyn Collegiate in the city semifinal. Unfortunately, the PSAL then had eligibility office issues and city final was cancelled the day of, but then Eagle Brooklyn was formally named 2024 PSAL 4A champions days later without playing the game. Last season, they went 26-3, won the Brooklyn borough title but lost the city championship 59-57 in overtime to their sister school, Eagle Academy-The Bronx. Their only other losses all year were to Crespi (CA) and Long Island Lutheran.
The team is coached by Kevin Hamilton. In his playing days he was a 6’4 point guard out of Archbishop Molloy (Queens) who went on to plays at Holy Cross College (2002-06). There he earned Patriot League Player of the Year (2005), Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year (2006), AP Honorable Mention All-American (2005), two-time First Team All-Patriot League. He set the all-time Patriot League and Holy Cross record with 292 career steals, broke school records for threes made (222) and scored 1,492 points. They made the NCAA Tournament in 2003 and the NIT in 2005. Hamilton was inducted into the Holy Cross Hall of Fame in 2013. He then spent ten years as a pro, 2006-16, across Poland, Puerto Rico, France and Germany — including a Polish Cup title and Polish League All-Star selection in 2009, and stops with Braunschweig, Bayreuth, Rouen, Indios de Mayagüez and Cangrejeros de Santurce. He assumed the Eagle head coaching job in 2023-24,

Amir Dockery (2027) 6’0 point guard - 2025-26 NYSSWA All State AAA 7th Team, 2026 MADE Hoops Circuit Standout. NY Hoops World Top 10 2027 Players in NYC. 2026 PSAL 4A Championship Key Performer. NYC Prospects 2025-26 PSAL 4 A All City First Team. Dockery is the consummate point guard, high level skills that are combined with great court vision and awareness. He gets the ball to where it should be and can shoot it very well as anybody. Plays club ball with New Heights NYC.
Hunter Frazier (2027) 6’8 forward - 2026 Pro City NYC Standout. 2025-26 NYSSWA All State AAA 2nd Team. 2025-26 PSAL 4 A All City First Team. 2025 City is Mine Championship Game Standout. 2025 Nike IS8 All Tournament Team. Frazier is a dominant force down low, using his strength to control the paint. His footwork and touch make him a reliable scoring option around the basket. He’s also a versatile player who can step out and make plays from multiple spots on the floor. Frazier’s skill set and physicality make him a matchup problem for any defense. Dylan Leon (2027) 5’10 point guard -Leon is a catch and shoot player. He moves very well without the ball in to take advantage of his shooting skill. If the defense doesn’t find a way to slow him, he can heat up quickly and score in bunches. He has speed and flourishes in the fast break. Leon is a solid defender that can make his presence felt and steal the ball. Plays club ball with NY Lightning.
Lee Robinson (2028) 6’1 guard - Robinson only just completed his sophomore year, where he averaged 15.6 ppg and looks like a future All State player. He is very good getting downhill and scoring through contact. He can also splash the deep ball, which all means that he can take over games and score in buckets. Plays club ball with New Heights NYC.
Omari Reede (2029) 5’10 point guard - Reede has transferred in from Eagle Academy-Harlem. He has the abilty to take over games with his scoring ability. He has great body control, makes strong moves to the basket and draws fouls. He has great court vision, as he is able to distribute the ball to his teammates as they get open. Reede has great defensive tendencies; he sticks with his man and will force them into turnovers. Plays club ball with Castle Athletics.
