Empire State League Starts up a Greater NYC College Prep Conference

The Empire State League (ESL) tips off its first season in 2026–27, bringing together six prep and postgraduate programs from the Greater New York City area. This corner of the college-prospect world has plenty of talent but rarely gets steady coverage. Metro-area media outlets are so vast in their scope that they can’t give much attention to any one of their high schools. Consequently, the region’s talent tends to stay chronically under-exposed relative to its level of talent.

The ESL’s member programs are independent operations, each working to give worthy college prospects in their area an affordable opportunity. Their shared goal is to help players make the jump from the high school game to the college game, get them in front of college scouts, and then do the work to get them onto college rosters.

As a league, the ESL gives its members structure: a regular schedule of conference games, standings, and a title to play for.

Five programs make up the inaugural ESL season this winter. The player profile link under each program below leads to its full article, which includes a team overview, coach contacts and individual player profiles.
