New York Military Academy 2022-23 Player Profiles

The New York Military Academy is a college preparatory, co-ed boarding school in the rural town of Cornwall, 60 miles north of New York City, and one of the oldest military schools in the United States. Its mens’ varsity basketball team competes in the Hudson Valley Athletic League and is a perennial NEPSAC D power house. Accordingly, they are often ranked above many higher NEPSAC class teams. The team is head coached by Bobby Rahn and he is assisted by Scott Sterling.


Here are the player profiles on their 2022-23 roster:


Khalil Baker (2023) 6’5 small forward - Baker is a skilled forward who has the ability to handle the ball, score inside and out, shoot with range, defend the post and rebound at a very high level.He is a bully who is adept at finishing around and above the rim.


Shawn Reckley 6’1 guard - Reckley is a knock down shooter with deep range on his jumper. He is a solid ball handler who can play either guard spot. He finishes around the rim with either hand. Solid on ball defender with quick hands in the passing lanes. 3.7 gpa


Jake Devaney (2023) 6’5 wing - Devaney is a do-it-all wing who impacts the game in many ways. Smooth shooting lefty with the ability to create his own shot. He plays above the rim and attacks it fearlessly. He is a relentless rebounder, elite for his position. He is a very solid on-ball defender who also gets in the passing lanes, when off of the ball. Reigning NEPSAC Class D MVP. 4.0 gpa


Miles Manica (2023) 5’11 point guard - Manica handles the ball, shoots it at a high level and plays with great energy. He picks up the opposing guards for the full 94 feet. He is a worker and a gym rat. Dedicated to learning the game and running his team the right way. 3.5 gpa


Precise Clark (2023) 6’9 forward - Clark is a presence in the paint on both ends of the floor. He plays above the rim and finishes strongly. He is an elite offensive rebounder. He runs the floor hard on every play and gets to the post early. Blocks shots at a high level. 2.0 gpa


Allen Myers (2023) 6’9 wing/forward - Myers is very skilled talent, including the ability to shoot the ball at a high level.. He can handle on the perimeter and create his own shot. Myers is a very good defensive rebounder. He can guard 1-5 at a high level. He has a 7’5 wing span and is very athletic. 3.7 gpa


Jeremiah Dorsey (2023) 5’10 guard - Dorsey is lightning quick and defends like a pest for 94 feet. He is a solid shooter off-of-the-catch, and he has the ability to get downhill and make the right play. He is a solid ball handler and passer. 3.9 gpa


Kasparas Sideravičius (2023) 6’1 point guard - Sideravičius is a high IQ point guard who excels in pick and roll action. Always seems to make the right read. Sees the play before it happens. Able to shoot the ball off the dribble or catch. Can defend his position at a high level. Solid shooter off the catch. 3.0 gpa


Ivan Vavic (2024) 6’1 guard - Vavic is an excellent shooter off the catch. Physically strong perimeter player who plays hard at all times. Can defend both guard spots well and rebounds his position. Excels in catch and shoot situations. 3.1 gpa


Aleksis Lola (2024) 6’4 wing - Lola is a versatile wing who can guard multiple positions on the floor. Very good shooter off the catch. Can handle the hall and finish above the rim. Rebounds very well for his position. Capable of switching 1-4 defensively. Major upside. 3.3 gpa


Karliss Kaugurs (2023) 5’11 guard - Kaugurs is a PEST on the defensive end. Picks up 94 feet and plays extremely hard. Excellent at getting over screens and playing the passing lanes defensively. Solid shooter off the catch. Can play both guard spots. High IQ guard.


Marco Blagojevic (2023) 6’9 forward - B is a very skilled big man capable of stepping out and shooting the 3 at a high level. Very strong. Aggressive going to the rim. Consistently finishes above the rim. Rebounds and blocks shot. 3.0 gpa
