Scarsdale High School is the public high school in Scarsdale in Westchester County, NY. 27 miles from New York City. Scarsdale’s basketball program was runner up in the New York State Section 1 AA last year and is looking to build on their success over the past few years in a big way. Led by Head Coach Joe Amelio, and Assistant Coaches, Jordan Griffith and Jayson Villalobos, Scarsdale is prepared to play a grueling Section 1 schedule. The Raiders will also travel to the well-known Torrey Pines Classic in San Diego, CA. With the goal of a long playoff run in mind, Coach Amelio has optimized his schedule for the Raiders as they will compete in games against CHSAA AA powerhouse Cardinal Hayes (January) and another huge potential matchup that is currently unannounced. Lastly, The Raiders will also be playing in the Slam Dunk X Crusader Classic against White Plains High (Section 1) at the County Center in January.


Carlos Rodriguez (2024) 6’3 guard - Rodriguez is holding a D1 offer from Manhattan. He was All-Section, All-Conference and All-League as a junior. Averaging over 18ppg, his quick first step allows him to get to the basket at will. He can score at any facet of the game and is known to hit big shots in pressure situations. His ability to control that game will no doubt be an asset to the Raiders as they pursue a shot at a Section 1 championship. Rodriguez had a fantastic summer and fall, getting MVP in several events against the best of NY. He also most recently received the Sportsmanship award as Scarsdale finished in second place at the Battle at the Bay in the Bronx, where he averaged almost 24ppg. He holds interest from several Division 1 schools, mainly in the Patriot and Ivy League. His senior year will be one to remember as he is set to eclipse over 1k points according to Coach Amelio.


Jake Sussberg (2025) 6’5 wing - Sussberg is coming off of an outstanding sophomore year, with his contributions helping lead the Raiders to the Section 1 Finals last year. He has the uncanny ability to score, and has the ability to be the best shooter in all of Section 1. Sussberg has steadily worked to improve his quickness on his release to play at the next level. He has proved time after time that he could play with the best of NY as he scorer over 20+ per game in games against Eagle Bronx and St. Raymond High in the Battle at the Bay in the Bronx. He has a chance to be one of the Section’s best players this upcoming year. He has begun to receive interest from Patriot and Ivy League schools and will continue to impress throughout his junior year. 4.0 gpa


AJ Booth (2024) 6’1 shooting guard - Booth’s leadership and work ethic helped to lead his team to outstanding victories and to the Section 1 Finals.  A returning captain, he has superb IQ with his ability to find open spaces on the court. He was one of Scarsdale’s leading rebounders at the guard position as a junior. Booth shoots over 40% from three and will look to have an even more important role on the team this year on the defensive end, providing Scarsdale with some of the best defensive guards in the Section.


Daniel Hoey (2025) 6’4 swing - This guard/forward who had a breakout season for Scarsdale last year. With his ability to anchor the defense and making big plays down the stretch of games to help his team climb through the playoffs of Section 1, Hoey is a blue collar worker whose presence is felt immediately by opposing teams. He has a great basketball IQ, does a great job cleaning up the boards, posting up his smaller matchups, and typically guards the opponent’s best guard/wing player. 3.6 gpa


Brandon Gibbons (2025) 6’1 point guard - Gibbons is a transfer from Edgemont High, where he was an All-Conference player. He is looking to make his own additions to the Scarsdale Raiders this year.  He is a crafty guard who has great court vision and is able to locate his teammates anywhere on the court.  Along with his ability to knock down his shot and get into the lane, Gibbons is looking forward to showing his worth on a whole different level this upcoming year.


Oscar Langford (2024) 6’5 forward - Langford provided the Raiders with a tremendous lift off the bench last year.  He is a tenacious forward with the ability to defend the paint as well as clean up the boards. He will do whatever it takes to help his team to victory and will be a valuable member to the Raiders.


Andrew Roseman (2026) 6’6 forward - A sophomore on the rise, Roseman has an exceptional presence around the rim, great hands, and the ability to make passes out of the post. He has the ability to rebound the ball from anywhere in the paint, as well as knocking down the mid-range shot.  Roseman is looking to continue to get stronger and quicker to provide a boost for the Raiders throughout the upcoming season.


Conner Shigekawa (2024) 5’10 shooting guard -  Shigekawa is a spark off the bench for the Raiders. He is a relentless guard who will drive the lane, take a charge, and knock down a three pointer, all in consecutive possessions. His intensity is a genuine asset to the team and he will no doubt contribute to the Raiders this season. 

 

Noah Grossberg (2024) 6’0 guard – Grossberg is a strong defender and finisher in the lane. He has the ability to make big shots and is not afraid to put his body on the line to help his team win.


Finn Miller (2025) 6’1 swing – A guard/forward who is undersized, but still makes himself a force in the paint. Finn sets hard screens and rebounds very well for his size.


Sergio Vittori (2025) 6’5 forward – This senior has the ability to have a big year. His strength and size will help Scarsdale’s guards get clear lanes in the paint.


Logan Mancusi (2025) 5’11 guard - Mancusi can shoot the ball, push the ball in transition, and is an above average passer. He is a gritty guard who has a “team first” mentality.
