2024 Iona Team Camp Standouts

On Saturday afternoon, June 8, we got to the Hynes Athletic Center on the campus of Iona University in New Rochelle for the Iona Team Camp. High school teams from the Tri-state area came out to play against each other in a set of games throughout the weekend. Here are the standouts from the event:


Kai Harvey 5-6, Point Guard, Mount Vernon High School, Class of 2025 - A guard that is quick and is a good decision-maker for his team. In spite of his diminutive stature, he is fearless and is able to hold his own against bigger players. Is able to glide past the opposition and can drive to the basket and finish in transition.


Hadi Adeyi 6-5, Shooting Guard, Mount Vernon High School, Class of 2025 - A guard that has a penchant for playing tough defense and is a great rebounder. Loves to run on the offensive end and is able to drive to the basket and finish efficiently. Is able to be an asset for his team by doing little things that equate to wins.


Tai Turnage 6-0, Point Guard, St. Raymond High School, Class of 2025 - A guard that is a true leader of his team and has the ability to control the tempo of his team when he is on the floor. Is an excellent defender and will look to stick with his man on defense and will go crash the boards for rebounds. Is able to drive to the basket and finish and is a good shooter.


Brandon Stores 6-4, Small Forward, St. Raymond High School, Class of 2025 (Georgia Tech commit)- A forward that is very versatile and is able to make his presence felt whenever he is on the floor. Has a penchant for obtaining rebounds and imposing his will on the opposition whenever he is going up to score. Is able to draw fouls and get to the free-throw line. Always plays tough defense.


Kenny Hunter, Jr., 6-4, Forward, St. Elizabeth High School (DE), Class of 2025 - A forward that is very mobile and plays tough. Likes to run in transition on the fast break and always looks to drive to basket to score. Is fearless when it comes to absorbing contact and can attack the glass for rebounds.


Joel Barnaby-Alexander 6-5, Shooting Guard, Nazareth High School, Class of 2026 - A guard that is quick and deceptive when he is on the floor and likes to run out in the open floor. Is able to create for himself and is able to hit pull-up jumpers from the top of the key and from three-point range. Is able to get open so that he can take a shot from three or can drive to the basket.


Halon Rawlins 6-6, Forward, Nazareth High School, Class of 2025 - A forward that is known for making his presence felt on both ends of the court. Showcses his athleticism when going up for rebounds and even throwing down powerful dunks. Has a penchant for showcasing his toughness on the floor, as he is able to absorb contact and is great at boxing out the opposition.


Dem Mohammed 6-10, Forward, James Monroe Educational Campus, Class of 2026 - A forward that has plenty of length and can make his presence felt in many ways on the floor. Has the ability to dominate on both ends of the floor, as he is a good shot blocker and is able to post up smaller players and can score. Is able to throw down powerful dunks, especially on the fast break.


Asher Elson 6-10, Forward, South Shore High School, Class of 2025 - A forward that is very skilled and can make his presence felt on the floor, due to his length. Has plenty of versatility, as he is able to put the ball on the floor and glide to the basket. Is able to block shots on the defensive end and can hold his own when it comes to obtaining rebounds.


Shamari Mitchell 6-6, Forward, South Shore High School, Class of 2025 - A forward that is known for his physicality and his athleticism. Has very good size and length and is quick on on his feet and ready to anticipate anything coming his way. Has a penchant for throwing down dunks and is a force when going up for rebounds.


Ethan Butler 6-5, Shooting Guard, St. Francis Preparatory High School, Class of 2026 - A guard that has a penchant for finding ways to get open and for creating for himself on ht offensive end. Is able to mover around off the ball and be open for when his teammates give him the ball, so that he can hit shots on the perimeter and from three-point range. Has a penchant for running on the fast break and finishing at the basket.


Troy Fason, Jr. 5-11, Point Guard, St. Francis Preparatory High School, Class of 2026 - A guard that has excellent court vision and plenty of quickness. Has a very smooth game, as he is able to get to the basket easily and has the ability to score with precision. Has a penchant for setting up his teammates for baskets, especially when they are open.


Patrick Rouse 6-5, Forward, St. John’s Preparatory High School, Class of 2025 - A forward that has plenty of athleticism and great footwork on the floor. Is able to move around off the ball and makes himself useful when it comes to possessions on the court. Has nice shooting touch and is always active for rebounds and loose balls. Has a penchant throwing down dunks.


Jake Sussberg 6-5, Shooting Guard, Scarsdale High School, Class of 2025 - A guard that has the ability to be the focal part of his team’s offense. Is used to being that hot hand, as he is always able to move off the ball, go through screens and get his shot off efficiently. Is a player that can score at a high volume,and is able to drive to the basket and finish efficiently.


Jahzir Crawford 5-10, Point Guard, Holy Cross High School, Class of 2026 - A guard that has the ability to run a solid offense and has plenty of court awareness. Is able to make sure that his teammates get the ball so that they’re in position to score. Has a good shot selection, which he uses when it is the right time.


Julien Wiggins 5-10, Point Guard, Salesian High School, Class of 2026 - A guard that has plenty of quickness on the court and is able to pick possessions as far when he should score. Is able to play great on the ball defense and is great with sticking to his man at all times. Has the ability to drive to the basket and is able to finish efficiently.
