2024 Fordham Team Camp Top Performers

On Saturday afternoon, June 15, we were at the Bronx’s Atlantic 10 Conference entry, Fordham University in The Bronx for their annual Team Camp. High school varsity teams from around the region gathered to get in some summer game play. In this event, games were played across five courts in Rose Hill Gym and the Lombardi Center.  Here are the standouts for the camp:

Taj Walters 6-5, Small Forward, Greenwich Country Day School, Class of 2025 - A forward that is strong, agile and loves to run on both ends of the court. Is able to muscle up on smaller players and can absorb contact when going up for two. Is able to crash the boards for rebounds and distribute the ball to his teammates when the opportunity arises.

 

Anderson Diaz 6-1, Point Guard, St. Raymond High School, Class of 2027 - A guard that has the ability to be a great playmaker & is a true leader when on the floor. Has a penchant for getting past the opposition with a quick first step and is able to drive to the basket and can finish efficiently. Has a nice jumpsuit and is also able to set teammates up for passes that can lead to baskets.

 

Zaire Johnson 5-9, Point Guard, St. Raymond High School, Classic of 2027 - A guard that brings plenty of energy and a lot of hustle off the bench. Is a player that is known for his defensive tendencies and has the ability to stick with his man at all times. Has the ability to pull up for a jumper when the opportunity presents itself and will also drive to the basket.

 

Colin Phang 6-8, Forward, St. Raymond High School, Class of 2025 - A forward that is very mobile and has great footwork. Is able to outwork and outmuscle the opposition when it comes to putting the ball on the floor and when it comes to obtaining rebounds. Has a penchant for stepping out of the paint area and shooting jumpers from the perimeter and from three-point range.

 

Eric Fagin, Jr. 6-3, Shooting Guard, Monsignor Scanlan High School, Class of 2025 - A guard that has the ability to use his speed and his strength in various ways. Has the ability to be an asset to his team, as he makes plenty of hustle plays on the floor. Has the ability to attack in transition and also to distribute the ball to his teammates, so that they can have opportunities to score.


Justin Williams 5-7, Point Guard, Monsignor McClancy High School, Class of 2026 - A guard that has the ability to be a true playmaker when on the court. Despite his frame, he is able to play bigger than his size, as he is able to finish strong when going up to score. Finds ways to set up his teammates for baskets, as he is able to slow down the tempo or speed it up depending on the situation.


Mike Cunningham 6-7, Forward, Kennedy Catholic High School, Class of 2025 - A guard that has plenty of mobility when on the floor and is able to hold his own in the post area. Is able to finish strong when going up to score and is a solid rebounder. Has the ability to move around when off the ball and makes himself available for passes when the opportunity arises.


Juan Lao 5-7, Point Guard, Kennedy Catholic High School, Class of 2025 - A guard that has the ability to see the floor efficiently and control where his teaates are moving at all times. Has a penchant for slowing down the tempo of the game and making sure that his teammates are where they need to be during crucial moments. Looks to score when the opportunity presents itself.

 

Oesoemana Sacko 6-7, Forward, St. Francis Preparatory High School, Class of 2026 - A forward that can be versatile on the floor and when the opportunity presents itself on the court. Is able to run efficiently and is able to obtain rebounds easily. Is able to outmuscle and outwork the opposition on both ends of the floor and is able to finish in transition when going up to score.

 

Julian Desir 6-6, Forward, Christ the King High School, Class of 2025 - A forward that has good hands and is very mobile. Showcases plenty of athleticism, whether it is going up for a rebound or going up for a dunk on the offensive end. Is able to hold his own on the perimeter and is able to run up and down the court on the fast break.


Malachi Wilson 5-8, Point Guard, Christ the King High School, Class of 2025 - A guard that has the ability to be a great playmaker, as he is able to see the floor efficiently. Is very quick and is able to make sure his teammates have opportunities to score on the break. Is very fearless when going up to score in the lane.

 

Joseph Jennings 6-3, Shooting Guard, Nazareth High School, Class of 2025 - A guard that has the ability to drive in transition and is able to play off the ball. Is able to take clutch shots and sink jumpers from the corners. Is a solid defensive threat, as he is able to stick with his man at all times on the court. When driving to the basket, he is able to finish strong.

 

Halon Rawlins 6-6, Forward, Nazareth High School, Class of 2025 - A forward that has the ability to play inside the paint and outside the paint and is one of his team’s key pieces on the floor. Is able to put the ball on the floor and and drive to the basket. Uses his athleticism to his advantage, especially when it comes to rebounding.

 

Justin Delgado 6-5, Forward, Nazareth High School, Class of 2026 - A forward that has the ability to showcase his athleticism, especially when driving to the basket and going up for a dunk. Has a penchant for rebounding and also blocking shots when the opportunity presents itself. Brings plenty of energy to his team at all times.

 

AbdouAkim Tahirou 6-9, Forward, Thurgood Marshall Academy, Class of 2025 - A forward that is able to bring a formidable presence to his team at all times, due to his size. Has the ability to be a great shot blocker and is a great rebounder. On the offensive end, he is a solid finisher, as he is able to post up his defenders and score and also has a nice shooting touch.
