2025 Above the Rim Elite 17u Player Profiles
Above the Rim Elite is a Central Massachusetts based AAU basketball program committed to helping student-athletes of all backgrounds. They compete in the PRO16/NXTPRO League which is sponsored by Puma Hoops.
Their 17u team is coached by Deandre “Supa” Ortiz and his roster is as profiled below.
#00 Rodrigo Dos Santos (2025) 6’8 forward, New York Military Academy - Dos Santos is possibly the best unsigned forward in the northeast. Legit 6’8 with very little weaknesses. Super skilled. Unguardable one-onone. Can handle, makes jump shots, and is an excellent passer. Strong touch around rim as well. Currently holds five division one JUCO offers and is hearing from some of the best junior colleges in the country.
#1 Alex Echevarria 5’11 (2026) point guard, St. Mark’s School (MA) - Echevarria is one of the best point guards in the Northeast. He earned both All NEPSAC and All Independent School League honors. Ultimate floor general. Deadly in the pick and roll. Knock down shooter and tough defender. Led St. Mark’s to the best season in 10 years.
#2 Jayden Johnson (2025) 6’3 guard, Leominster High (MA) - Johnsonis a crafty combo guard with a great pull-up game. Shifty and super tough to stay in front of. Good passer as well. Mid Wach A League MVP (MA)
#5 Javon Massiah (2025) 6’5 small forward, Keene High (NH) - One of the most under recruited players in New England. Combo guard that is super athletic. Attacks rim with force. 6’8 wingspan. Solid jump shooter, relentless finisher, and underrated playmaker. Runner up for New Hampshire’s Player of the Year.
#10 Tyrese Acevedo (2025) 6’1 guard, Lowell Catholic High (MA) - Acevedo 6is a bouncy combo guard that has a great motor. Pesky defender who is super lanky. Strong, crafty finisher around the rim. Runner up for his conference’s MVP.
#12 Kody Jamieson (2026) 6’2 guard, Marianapolis Prep (CT) - Jamieson is a knockdown 2 guard that averaged over 12ppg at Class B Marianapolis Prep. Excellent decision maker, very good passer, smart defender. 3.5 gpa
#23 Jamal Stanley (2026) 6’2 guard, Keene High (NH) - Stanley is a bouncy combo guard that guards 1-3. He has a beautiful jump shot and is an athletic finisher around the rim. Was All State Honorable Mention and First Team All Defense for New Hampshire.
#24 Anthony Baum (2026) 6’6 small forward, Assabet Regional Tech High (MA) - Baum is a true junior that will be only 16 years old for the entire AAU season. Strong and bouncy. Guards 2-5. Good rebounder. Evolving jumper. Great motor. Will be a scholarship player in two years.
#34 Seann Katubi (2025) 6’3 guard, Wachusett High (MA) - Katubi is a Jack-of-all trades. Guards 1-4, plays 1-3 on offense. Very smart player, excellent defender. Good passer. Always under control. Led Mid Wach A League in scoring at nearly 18ppg
#35 Harryns Cantave (2026) 6’6 small forward, Brooks School (MA) - A 16 year old man child. Doesn’t turn 17 until October. Dunks everything, highlight waiting to happen. Rebounds through traffic and is an excellent communicator. Played key role for NEPSAC Class B champion Brooks.
#55 Will Tonelli (2026) 6’5 small forward, Shrewsbury High (MA) - A bully, Tonelli is a football-first guy that sets excellent screens, is an awesome communicator, and a great passer. Moves very well and is a brick wall on defense
