2025-26 Notre Dame Prep Season Preview

Notre Dame Prep of Sacred Heart University (NDP) is the model of secondary education in Fairfield, Connecticut. They achieve that with demanding academics coupled with a supportive learning community, a range of enriching extra-curriculars, a competitive sports program, and a fierce commitment to service - all guided by Catholic values. The Notre Dame Prep boys basketball team competes in the South West Conference and will again contend for a Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference (CIAC) State Championship. The team finished last season with a record of 22-4, with its only in-state losses coming on a half court buzzer beater versus Connecticut D1 runner-up Saint Bernard, plus a narrow CIAC State Tournament semifinal loss versus back-to-back Connecticut State Champion Notre Dame-West Haven. The team’s only other in-season losses came against Nationally ranked competition, St. Thomas Aquinas (FL) and Waxahachie (TX). NDP finished 24-2 in the 2023-24 season.
Veteran coach Brian Kriftcher is in his sixth year at the helm. His 2025-2026 Lancers are younger this year, but the quality of their team remains largely intact – with the notable exception of All-State guard Kamryn Salters who graduated last year and is a PG at the Knox School. Key role players Logan White and Nasir Dunlap have also departed from last year’s team.
This year’s Lancers squad includes the following key players:
Jameer Reed (2026) 6’6 wing - Originally from New Zealand (dual citizen with the United States). Very heady and skilled, with ability to score at all three levels. Strong and crafty finisher, with terrific footwork and elusiveness. Outstanding passer and on-ball defender. High academic; garnering considerable college interest — still somewhat below the radar screen for a player of his capability. Played for the 18u New Zealand National team at this past summer’s NBA Academy.
Josh Charlot (2027) 5’11 point guard - Charlot has been a starter in every game of his high school career thus far. All State player as a sophomore. #1 ranked point guard in the CIAC. He is the consummate floor general who controls the pace of play at both ends. Embraces challenges at both ends; at his best when the game is on the line. Phenomenal separator off the dribble, with outstanding court awareness and vision. Next-level on-court communicator and leader. Most Outstanding Player of the 2025 Pangos Frosh-Soph East Camp.
Jaise “Speedy” Greaves (2027) 5’10 point guard - Greaves blends outstanding speed and playmaking ability to both facilitate and score. As fast end-to-end with the ball in his hands as any player anywhere. Uniquely disruptive 94’ on-ball defender; true “head of the snake” who single-handedly disrupts opponents’ ability to get into offense. He never gets tired. A solid outside shooter.
Kieran Blake (2027) 6’2 shooting guard - Blake has excellent slashing ability and finishing skills. Excellent dribble penetrator, with a variety of moves and counters. Very good pull-up jump shooter, with improving range. Terrific rebounder at both ends. High-academic college prospect. Expected to play a huge role this season.
Myles Coleman (2027) 6’3 wing - Coleman is a physically strong and athletic player. He is versatile, in that he is solid facing up or with his back to the basket. Excellent finisher at the rim. Capable defender and shot blocker. His best basketball is in front of him.
Travish Burnett 6’5 small forward. Long and athletic lefty who can attack to both sides. Excellent slasher, offensive rebounder, and finisher. Capable shooter with range. Played well at the invitation-only Chris Paul Future Stars Academy camp this summer. Also invited to the upcoming Pangos Frosh-Soph camp. Significant future prospect.
Archer O’Connor (2028) 6’7 forward - O’Connor has good instincts and an excellent outside shooting touch. Expected to play an increasingly important role as he grows into his young body. Played well at the invitation-only Chris Paul Future Stars Academy camp this summer.
Kisani Spears (2027) 6’5 wing - Spears is a long and athletic player. He defends and rebounds well. Complementary player who the program has high hopes for as he gains experience and grows his skills.
Takare Reynolds (2029) 6’1 guard - Reynolds is an immensely strong and athletic freshman. His physicality is beyond his years. Relentless attacker at both ends. Skills will catch up. Natural leader. Future player to watch.
CJ Bostick (2026) 6’3 power forward. Bostick has a high basketball IQ and excellent versatility. Dual sport (football) athlete.
Ralph Cantave (2026) 6’2 small forward - Undersized, but powerful, Cantave is a solid rebounder at both ends. He plays much bigger than his size.
