2024 Crusader Classic Invitational Top Performers

On Saturday, January 27, we made it to Monsignor Scanlan High School in The Bronx for the annual Crusader Classic Invitational, in which schools from the Tri-state area came to play. On this date, we got to see the final three matchups of the evening. Adlai Stevenson Educational Campus (Bronx) played against Forest Hills High (Queens). Notre Dame-Fairfield High (Connecticut) played against John Bowne High (Queens). The CHSAA matchup finale featured the host school, Monsignor Scanlan High against Nazareth Regional High (East Flatbush, Brooklyn). Below are the standouts from those games.

 

Ahmed Cisse 6-4, Shooting Guard, Adlai Stevenson Educational Campus, Class of 2024 - A guard that is able to create for himself on the floor and is a true leader on the floor. Is able to make sure that his teammates get the ball during crucial moments on the floor. Has a penchant for driving to the basket and is a good finisher.


Tristan Burth 6-8, Forward, Adlai Stevenson Educational Campus, Class of 2024 - A forward that has a penchant for making his presence felt with his physicality and is able to attack on the boards. Is great at putting the ball on the floor and driving to the basket. Has the ability to shoot from the perimeter. Uses his length to secure blocks when on the defensive end.


Jack Vasquez 6-3, Shooting Guard, Forest Hills High School. Class of 2024 - A guard that has great court vision and is always ready to get his teammates passes that could potentially lead to baskets. He also has the ability to score in transition and uses his quickness to his advantage. Is able to shoot from long range, especially when he’s open.


Jayden Sanchez 5-11, Point Guard, Forest Hills High School, Class of 2024 - A guard that has the opportunity to shoot in transition and is a solid playmaker on the floor. Has a penchant for driving to the basket and is fearless when going into the lane. Has the ability to distribute to his teammates so that they are able to score.


Chris Judge 6-0, Point Guard, John Bowne High School, Class of 2024 - A guard that has the ability to make his presence felt on the court by showcasing his guard skills. Is a player that likes to drive to the basket and is a good scorer that also looks to shoot from the perimeter. Has the ability to find his teammates when they are streaking towards the basket or finding ways to get free on the offensive end.


Josiah Salmon 6-5, Forward, John Bowne High School, Class of 2024 - A forward that has the ability to make plays on the court. Is a skilled and athletic player that will have the ability to get rebounds by crashing the boards. Has the ability to drive to the basket and is a great finisher when going into the lane.

 

Parrish Edmond Jr 6-4, Shooting Guard, Notre Dame-Fairfield High School, Class of 2025 - A guard that has the ability to make his presence felt when he’s on the floor with his ability to take over a game. Is a player that has the ability to use his athleticism to make major plays on the court. Has plenty of speed and also has a good hands, which he uses on both ends of the court.


Halon Rawlins 6-5, Forward, Nazareth High School, Class of 2025 - A forward that is able to do many things on the court and is very mobile. Has a penchant for showcasing his athleticism on both ends of the court and obtaining rebounds when in the post area. Is a leader for his team, as he sets the tone for the squad by bringing plenty of energy on the floor.


Jacob Roman 6-2, Shooting Guard, Nazareth High School, Class of 2024 - A guard that is able to take advantages of whatever opportunities come his way on the court. Is able to drive to the basket and is a good finisher and is great at drawing fouls and getting to the free-throw line. Is a great defender that is able to stick with his man and obtain steals.

 

Kaleb Popotte 6-2, Point Guard, Monsignor Scanlan High School, Class of 2025 - A guard that has excellent court vision and knows how to control the tempo of the game. Is very crafty and finds ways to get to the basket, and is good at drawing fouls and getting to the free throw line. Is a player that can shoot from long range and can be a problem for the opposition if left open.

 

Nasir Rodriguez 6-6, Shooting Guard, Monsignor Scanlan High School, Class of 2024 - A guard that is able to play multiple positions, including the front court, especially if the opportunity presents itself. Has the ability to crash the boards to get rebounds and used his length to make shooting difficult for the opposition. Is able to use his strength to muscle
